Marches and pickets in support of Ukraine took place across Ireland at the weekend

On February 23, on the eve of the second anniversary of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, a protest action took place outside the Russian embassy. Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Marijus Gudynas joined the Irish people who have been picketing every day for two years.

February 24 Employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ireland, together with members of the Ukrainian community, diplomats of countries that respect freedom and democratic values, participated in the multi-thousand-strong peace march "Walk With Ukraine" through the central streets of Dublin. Over 5,000 participants in the action organized by the Ukrainian community in Ireland and the initiative "Ukrainian Action in Ireland" expressed solidarity with Ukraine, called for a faster end to the war in Ukraine, raised the question of Russia's responsibility, and thanked Ireland for its support.
Ambassador of Ukraine Larysa Gerasko, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Marijus Gudynas and Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia Juris Štālmeistars spoke at the rally after the march.
"Lithuania often hears words of gratitude from Ukrainians, but in fact we are grateful to Ukrainians who defend the freedom and independence of all of us, who sacrifice their lives not only for theirs, but also for ours. Yes, we are doing a lot to help Ukraine win, but the war is still going on. Therefore, we have to do even more to bring our common victory closer," said Ambassador M. Gudynas.
During the rally, money was donated to buy an ambulance.
Marches in support of Ukraine took place in Cork, Cavan, Limerick and other Irish cities and towns.
