Lithuanian Embassy to Ireland Hosted the First Business Mission of Lithuanian Food Producers
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in cooperation with the Lithuanian Export Center organised the first business mission of Lithuanian food producers in Dublin on the 25th-26th of February. The ambassador of Lithuania to Ireland H.E. Rasa Adomaitienė welcomed the participants of the mission and underlined that Lithuanian products have a great potential in the Irish market, not only because of the substantial number of Lithuanians and the representatives of the communities from other Central and Eastern European countries residing here, but also because of the increasing awareness of Lithuanian products amongst Irish consumers. Ambassador expressed hopefulness that business mission and the contacts made would contribute to the export growth of Lithuanian products to Ireland.
The participants of the business mission, representing 14 Lithuanian food production enterprises, met with the representatives of the largest wholesale companies in Ireland - “Musgrave Group” and “Barry Group” and with the importers of ethnic food products. Furthermore, meetings were held with the sales managers of the largest supermarket chain “Tesco Ireland”, as well as the catering company “Aerlingus Catering” serving the national airline “Aerlingus”.
