Design exhibition “Baltic links”
Farmleigh Gallery in Dublin hosted the design exhibition “Baltic links”. The exposition consists of fashion, jewellery, ceramics, and house interior art works.
At the opening of the exhibition Ambassador of Lithuania to Ireland Rasa Adomaitiene highlighted the importance of traditions and culture. She emphasized the fact that in the greatly globalized world there is a significant need to preserve our national identities. Minister of State Simon Harris TD greeted the public, the artists and acknowledged the great input of all three Baltic state’s Embassies in promoting their national identities. He highlighted the idea that knowing and perceiving different cultures contributes in building tolerance and understanding.
Lithuanian exposition called “The Art of Homecoming” comprises pieces of the most famous Lithuanian artists such as Jolanta Talaikyte, Renata Maldutiene (costume/fashion), Egle Cejauskaite-Gintale (jewellery), Inga Valentiniene, Vytauas Kibildis (house interior objects), Severija Incirauskaite-Kriauneviciene (textile) .
