Baltic Day festival took place at Dublin cultural heart

On 7th of May, commemorating the centennial anniversary of independence of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, traditional Baltic Day festival took place at Dublin cultural heart – The Temple Bar Meeting House Square.

Festival, where the folk dances and songs, traditional crafts and cuisine as well as tourism in the Baltic States have been presented, became an annual tradition since a very first and successful Baltic Day Festival on 2016.

During the festival, Lithuania was represented by a famous Lithuanian jazz and soul singer Raimonda Masiulyte, accompanied by an Irish musicians Sarah May Rodgers and Eamonn Moran. Traditional folk dances have been performed by the local Lithuanian dance groups from Tullamore „Leliuma“ and „Raskila“ from Portlaoise as well as by the pupils from Lithuanian Saturday School „Dundalk March 11“.

A vibrant celebration, where all three Baltic countries shared their national cultural heritage with Ireland, was introduced by The Irish Times („Baltic Day sees centenary celebrations in Temple Bar“).

Baltic Day festival has been initiated and organised by the diplomatic missions of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia residing in Dublin and their local communities.
