Actions in support of Ukraine in Ireland

February 23 At the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ireland, in commemoration of the second anniversary of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine and the tenth anniversary of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, a creative evening "Pages of My Memory" was organized by members of the Lithuanian and Ukrainian communities in Ireland.

Performer and music author Jonas Kriauklys, together with Lithuanian and Ukrainian joint music group "Slava Ukraini!" and soloist Jurgita Čepkauske, who lives in Ireland, performed songs of his creation in Lithuanian and Ukrainian languages. Ukrainian poet Nadija Postemska read her poems in Ukrainian about war and hope, faith and loss.

Congratulating the members of the Lithuanian and Ukrainian communities gathered in large numbers at the event, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Marijus Gudynas urged us to never forget the defenders of Ukraine, who dream of liberating their Motherland as soon as possible, who bravely fight for the freedom of all of us, not to leave Ukraine alone, because it tirelessly strives for victory every day for the sake of all of us.

"I believe that one day Ukraine will become a full member of the European Union and NATO. We stand with Ukraine and its heroic people defending their land and with it the future of all of us. We cannot tire of supporting a country fighting for its freedom and independence. We are together. And there are many of us, and we are invincible!" - said the ambassador.

M. Gudynas also presented the initiative "Radarom 2024 - let's protect Ukrainian soldiers" taking place in Lithuania, and informed that the donated funds will be used to purchase security military equipment manufactured in Lithuania. Members of the Lithuanian community in Ireland and employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania also contributed to the campaign.
