Repatriation certificate
The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland issues a temporary travel document, a repatriation certificate (Asmens grįžimo pažymėjimas) to citizens of Lithuania and stateless persons bearing Lithuanian residency permit, if their passport (travel document) was lost, damaged or expired; as well as to minor children of Lithuanian citizen(s) born in Ireland (including Northern Ireland) who do not have valid passport or other travel documents.
Notably repatriation certificate is issued only for the purpose of returning to Lithuania, it is neither good to continue the trip with it nor to travel to other countries that are not related to the return to Lithuania.
How to apply?
Application should be submitted to the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ireland not earlier than 3 months before the trip to Lithuania.

The minor children of Lithuanian citizen(s) born abroad must also come to the Embassy if the repatriation certificate is issued to a child older than 2 years of age. |
Required documents:
- application form (filled out at the Embassy);
- 2 passport photos;
- expired passport/ID card or if the passport/ID card is lost - a copy of it and/or another photo ID document;
- 25 EUR consular fee (bank card payment only).
Issuance and validity
Repatriation certificates are usually issued the same day after receiving all necessary documents.
The validity period of the repatriation certificate is determined by considering the duration of the return trip or other important circumstances, and usually it is no longer than 15 days. The validity period indicated in the repatriation certificate is not extended.
